Local and export BOPP film capacities will also increase
By investing in the currently largest and most productive BOPA production line worldwide, Oben Holding Group (OHG) becomes one of the most important nylon film producers within the western hemisphere. The brand-new 6.6m wide Brückner line will start production at OHG’s site in Santiago de Chile at the end of 2018. It will help to serve Latin and North American as well as European markets with top-quality BOPA packaging and specialty films used for e.g. balloons or pharmaceutical capsules.
Further, OHG adds another flagship to its already impressing BOPP film line armada: South Americas first 10.4m high speed line installed in Colombia will strengthen the company’s leading position. The line’s efficiency, productivity and state-of-the-art technology in combination with OHG’s market and industry knowledge will ensure a faster and better supply for the growing Colombian market as well as for other Latin American countries.
The company’s Technical Director, Erik Sosa, says: “It is characteristic for our group to reach for pioneering solutions when thinking about an investment. Our customers will go on challenging us, demanding not only for highest film quality but at the same time for flexible delivery periods and competitive film prices. Therefore we need the best equipment to produce those specialty and commodity products sought for in our various markets. With our long-term partner Brückner we feel confident to be on the safe side – now and in the future.”
Oben Holding Group is producing polypropylene, polyester and nylon films used for flexible packaging, coated films for the graphic industry and thermoformed polypropylene products. Today, 10 manufacturing plants, 4 distribution centers and 2 sales offices within 11 countries are serving the customers across the Americas and Europe.
